About Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built infrastructure for fulfillment of Basic Needs of human race including Transportation, Communication, Energy production, Religious, Cultural, Sports and Community and Social and Developmental activities like bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings.Department is the foremost in imparting Civil Engineering education in ALIET. Well qualified and experienced faculty is one of the salient feature of the department and acute care is taken to ensure that students acquire essential engineering concepts with in-depth understanding In addition to, the civil department is well equipped with required departmental laboratories with tools and equipment to cater the needs of students and consultancy.

It equips students with skills to integrate spatial data analysis (GIS) with precise drafting and modeling (CAD) for real-world applications like urban planning, transportation, site surveys, and infrastructure design. The lab emphasizes software tools such as ArcGIS/QGIS for GIS and AutoCAD for CAD, focusing on data visualization, analysis, and 2D/3D modeling

Concrete Technology Laboratory

Concrete Technology Laboratory

Concrete technology laboratory provides facilities to conduct all quality control tests on cement, aggregates and concrete (Fresh and hardened). Students learn the standard procedure to test the quality of building materials in line with the corresponding IS codes. The consultancy works are being carried out for the various agencies and organizations related to the Construction Material testing, Mix Design, Characterizations etc.

Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory

Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory

The Geotechnical engineering Laboratory is well equipped with most of the Latest Equipments to determine the Index and Engineering properties of soil, Moreover, this lab is utilized for the various consultancy works for government and private agencies related to the pavement design, building and water tank foundation design for the contribution to social and industrial development of the country.

Transportation Engineering Laboratory

Transportation Engineering Laboratory

The Transportation Engineering lab has been set up to fulfill the needs of analyzing the traffic movements and testing the pavement materials. This lab is equipped with various equipments for the testing of bituminous binder, mastics and mixtures are available in this lab to evaluate and understand the material behaviour. The consultancy works are being carried out for the various agencies and organizations related to the traffic engineering and management, pavement material characterizations etc.
