About the Department
The Department of ECE was established in the year 2008. The Department currently runs UG in Program in Electronics and Communication Engineering and PG Program in VLSI DESIGN . The intake of UG-ECE is 120 and PG-VLSI DESIGN is 12. The Department of ECE established state-of-the-art labs viz., Electronic Devices and Circuits, Pulse and Digital Circuits, Analog and Digital Communications, Microprocessors and Controllers, Microwave Engineering , VLSI and Digital Signal Processing, IoT etc. to suit the needs of the Students and the Faculty. The Labs are provided with Licensed Software’s like MATLAB, CCStudio, Multisim, XILLINX, Mentor Graphics, Tanner. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam research forum has been established in 2015 to inculcate the habit of research and development, to train the students to learn and practice the concepts learnt. Research forum is instrumental in implementation of student projects, In house projects and encourages students to attend learn from industry, acts as a bridge between industry and the department. A YouTube channel created by the forum “ALIET ECE” helps students to project their project presentation on digital media. Various student chapters like IETE, ISTE have been established in the department to enable students to conduct guest talks, acquisition of new knowledge and to promote networking. A large number of activities are conducted regularly under these student forums. Guest lectures, Workshops, Hands on Sessions on latest tools are regularly held to help students to acquire new knowledge, deeper and clear understanding of major concepts and build the ability to apply in the relevant fields.
