About the Department
B.Tech. in CSE(DS) is a four-year course undergraduate program approved by AICTE and affiliated to JNTU, Kakinada during the academic year 2022-2023 with intake of 60 students. This course equips learners with the ability to manipulate structured and unstructured data through various tools, algorithms, and software, emphasizing the development of critical Data Science skills. Students who want to pursue a career in CSE(DS), ALIET offers a distinctive advantage, setting them apart from competitors.

The field of Data Science (DS) has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade, becoming a distinct offshoot of Computer Engineering. It has resulted in a paradigm shift across various sectors of the industry, academia, and research. Through training machines, DS is altering the world at a rapid pace. This course is designed to equip students with the skills needed to analyse, interpret, and visualize data in various forms and formats, and apply their knowledge of statistics, computing DS, using the latest tools and technology to improve efficiency and augment human capabilities. The breakthroughs in DS have significantly influenced various sectors, including FinTech, AgriTech, Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, and Retail industries. The Department of CSE(DS) at ALIET embarked on its journey in 2022 with an initial intake of 60 students in CSE(DS). The department currently offers Under Graduate Program – B.Tech CSE(DS). At ALIET the department is dedicated to providing innovative and high-quality technical education at the undergraduate level. The faculty and staff of the department are committed to equipping our students with the expertise and proficiency in Data Science, and related fields that are essential to thriving in modern society. The Department’s main objective is to provide experiential learning opportunities, including hands-on training, research projects, internships, and project-based courses that prepare students to work in interdisciplinary teams and create the future. In addition to a state-of-the-art curriculum, the Department places a strong emphasis on enriching the students’ learning experience by offering value-added courses, skill-development programs, and opportunities to participate in technical competitions and hackathons at all levels. The students, faculty, and staff of DS at ALIET believe in working together, encouraging each other, and collaborating across a diverse set of projects, labs, departments, and industry partners. This approach enables us to achieve productive interdisciplinary collaborations and ensures that our students are successful.
